Preklopi na sonce is a Slovenian project focused on promoting renewable energy awareness and monitoring solar energy potential. The project publishes daily data on how much electricity and hot water an average Slovenian four-member household could generate using solar photovoltaic panels and solar thermal systems. The initiative uses TRNSYS simulation software to model thermal and electrical energy system performance and EPICES online monitoring service for actual solar plant production. Data is sourced from the HELIOCLIM 3 satellite database with 5 km spatial resolution and 15-minute temporal resolution. The project is part of a broader European initiative supported by the Alliance for Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources (APERE) and includes participation from Belgium, Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
